Halloween

"What is that AWFUL smell?" I asked. Then I saw the cauldron full of bubbling purple liquid ...
It was Flava Flav and he was brewin up some purple drank. He did not have on a costume but he always looks like a gremlin so he startled me. When i asked him what he was doing in my basement he answered with the usual "FLAVA FLAAAV!!". So i asked him if he was going trick or treating with me and he answered "YEAHHH BOI" So we went out getting candy and such, stirring up a ruckus when all of a sudden out of nowhere appears the ghost of Rick James. He floated over to us and I reached out to shake his hand because this man is a legend. But when i went to grasp his hand i slipped right through his ghostly figure. It was embarrassing but we all went on to collect candy. Our ending total of loot was 14lbs and 6oz of candy. We sold it to large greedy children and used the money to open a record shop. Even though record shops have become obsolete we continued to make money due to the people that owned it. Rick James also summoned Patrick Swayze  from the dead to be the cashier. We later came to be known as the Fearless Four.

http://www.timesunion.com/entertainment/article/Coroner-Amy-Winehouse-died-from-too-much-alcohol-2235328.php
Resumption-to begin again

illicit-unlawful, forbidden by rule

abstinence-the act of refraining from a desire

lurid-presented in shocking or sensational terms

tumultuous-excited, confused, loud or disorderly

the author says "a resumption of heavy drinking killed the singer". Resumption is a good word that describes Amy Winehouses drinking. She stopped for a little while than would start drinking again and it was not a surprise that she died to me. "she stopped the use of illicit drugs in 2008" but started drinking heavily and started fighting her addiction.  She was "abstinent" from drug use at various points in her life but couldn't completely shove it away.  "praise for her singing was often eclipsed by lurid headlines about her destructive relationships and erratic behavior"
She was constantly attacked by the media and the public about her problems. "Winehouse herself turned to her tumultuous life and personal demons for music materials"
Her song Rehab was a good example of this and gives a good image of how she played off her image.

Green eggs and Ham by Dr. Suess

I remember reading this and getting read this many times when i was a wee little child. It is a classic story that contains rhyme and much other silly contents. I don't know why anyone would eat green eggs and ham but its creative. I also would like to know what kind of creature that thing is on the cover because its awfully furry but is wearing a top hat. It angers me slightly that people can create such easy books that are not hard at all to make and dont make sense at all but make a ton of money of them. There is about 4 words per page but they can make tremendous profit off of such a goofy book.

I=Ithica

1 it has a wide range of different degrees you can pursue so i see that as a plus
2 its academics are pretty good and i like the courses they teach
3 i like that its pretty close to home so it is convenient for holidays and such
4 their sports programs are decent and there lacrosse program seems good
5 they have a nice campus

1 I don't think that it would be ideal for my social life
2 its billing system and payment methods are very good
3 Ithica is a boring city

I beleive this is located in a coffee shop or in some type of restaurant. This is funny because it takes such a huge contraption and probably a lot of effort just too get coffee. Now a days we have single K cups to make things personal and other small more convenient machines. I was also wondering how heavy that thing is and how much it cost. It is just interesting to think how far we have come along since those times and how almost selfish we are and how we want things so personalized and convenient. .

famous quotes blog

"He was an inch, perhaps two, under six feet, powerfully built, and he advanced straight at me with a slight stoop of the shoulders, head forward, and a fixed from-under stare which made me think of a charging bull." - Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad
I soon found out that it was Quasimodo the hunchback of Notre Dame. he charged me because i was talking crap about Notre Dame football but i side stepped him. He let out a loud grunt of disgust. I shouted "look a bird", the oldest trick in the book. He fell for it because of his mental illness. While he was looking left I Kansas city shuffled him like Bruce Willis and he died on the spot. I did not feel bad because he had a harsh life being such a monster so i put him out of his misery. I then mounted my bike and rode off into the mist of the early morning, never looking back. I rode to the near bakery and indulged in some glazed donuts. The rest of my day included yard work and unclogging sinks.

The Surprises in the NFL
1) I think the Lions will not succeed in the playoffs despite their great record so far. Like McGuire said this was the "first time since 1956" that they started off so well. How could a team that has been bad for years just come in and dominate a league like he claims.
2) The Eagles are indeed a nightmare. He is accurate in saying they had "The best off season of any NFL team". They acquired many great players but have failed to meet the expectations of most fans. They started off the season 1-4 and look like a mess.
3)Wes Welker is a very good wide receiver and if he continues at the same "pace he would break Jerry Rices record for receiving yards in a season". But he gets way to much credit for this statistic because behind all those yards is a quarterback. Tom Brady the quarterback for the New England Patriots is one of the best in the league and is playing phenomenally. Without an amazing quarterback such as Brady no one could post numbers like that.
4)To break Dan Marino's record is an amazing feat. I think there is a large possibility that it could actually happen because to break the record they would have "to average 318 yards a game to break it.  Right now 5 Quarterbacks are ahead of that pace". The chances that at least one quarterback will do that are pretty great.
5)Victor Cruz is deffinetly not the "fate of the New York Giants" as Mark McGuire said. It is impossible for a receiver to make that much impact on a team that 1, just has bad defense and 2, Has a a bad offensive line. Just him alone will not do enough, the Giants need to step up their game all together. But he has certainly been "a one-man highlight reel".
6)The Bills are due for a great season. "a max-effort team that played hard enough to win" is a great statement because they give their all in every game even if they come up short. If they do beat the Giants this week it will be a big statement and they will join the elite teams in the AFC.
7)Peyton Manning is "The most valuble player in the history of sports". He has proved this since he was signed by the Colts. He conducted the offense like an orchestra and has been the heart of the team. He has lead them to many victories and Superbowl wins.
8)The jets are not "The Super Bowl contender coach Rex Ryan promised". They are not a bad team but do not have the intensity and pizzazz of a Superbowl winning team.
9)Cam Newton was speculated coming into this years season but has surprisingly showed amazing talent. Newton has "become one of the most exciting players in the NFL" for sure. He puts up astonishing numbers each week and carries his team to victory.
10)The Oakland Raiders are "dangerous" and have an explosive run game with Darren McFadden. The San Francisco 49ers "are 4-1 and  are clearly the best team in the NFC west". They are better than they have been in past years but have not played very impressive teams so far.

http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Burnt-Hills-linebacker-meticulous-2203122.php#photo-1646660
This article is about a linebacker from Burnt Hills who is very talented and tries very hard to suceed. He has over 40 starts on varsity which is crazy and i don't know how that is possible but apparently he has accomplished it. He works hard and studies film and is dedicated to what he does. The article says "he hired a service called RecruitZone to send out highlight tapes" to colleges that he is interested to play for. He came from Scotia after he was a freshman and played football and excelled at it. He gets inspiration from "pro linebackers...Patrick Willis Ray Lewis. He also studies film and dissects opposing teams offenses so he knows what to do come game time. Wydronkowski is dedicated to football and improves himself any way he can by also listening to coachs and helps improve the team by giving motivation. He is a big leader on the team now that he is a senior and he actions set a good example for other players on the team.

"Hey" shouted the boy.Henry turned around very quickly and caught a football just before his face.Happy as he was for not getting hit in the face he was still angry at Helga.Hurrying to go beat her up Henry tripped on a stick on to gravel. His knee bled very badly and was snapped in half.Hospital visits weren't that fun so they stayed home despite the gruesome injury

Opinion blog prompt # 9 breakfast is the most important meal of the day

i think breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it the longest gap between meals. You go to sleep and do not eat until lunch you will be running on empty. It gives your body fuel for the day. You need to be attentive in class so if you eat breakfast you can pay attention.
