photo prompt

My good friend Brett Clark did this one.The images that would show up from this search would be people in open areas outside outstretching there arms. They would be celebrating and cheering. It would have an american flag waving in the air. There could also be a bald eagle flying in the sky.

TU Tuesday-local

Niskyuna beat Shenendahowa in the boys section II class A finals for Lacrosse. The final score at the end of the game was 17-11. "it was because of the Silver Warriors' ability to win face-offs and stick skills that set them apart from the Plainsmen". " 'We were winning some draws, but we didn't win the ground balls,' said Shen coach Chuck Holohan". The teams exchanged goals untill went into halftime "Niskayuna with an 8-7 lead." The second half was then dominated by Niskyuna by winning face offs and ground balls. " 'It was very difficult to come up with a game plan to stop Niskayuna,' said Holohan".

30 On Memorial Day, I will…

on Memorial day i will be chilling up at my lake house. Possibly on the jet-ski or boat. I have to reopen it for this summer. We have to get the boat and jet-ski to put in the water and tow the four wheeler up on a trailer. We have to clean up a little but after that its boat rides and relaxing. My family recognizes memorial day because we have had family members in the army before.

Sports Conversation Starters
  • Who is your favorite athlete?
  • How often do you exercise?
  • What is your favorite sports team?
  • Do you play any sports?

  • My favorite athlete is most likely Chris Johnson. He is a exciting running back to watch. I exercise just about every day because i have lacrosse practice. If I'm not at practice I am being active with my friends one way or another. My favorite sports team is the New York Giants. I love watching the NFL and growing up in New York with my father who also is a fan made me become one. I play lacrosse and football. My favorite sport out of the two is most certainly lacrosse.

    40. Does participation in sports keep teens out of trouble?

I believe that participation in sports keeps teens out of trouble.
    1) because it gives them less time to do stupid things.
    2) Sports are something that is constructive and teaches a person important life skills such as perseverance, hard work and team work
    3) If kids are not in any extracurricular activity then they become bored and will do bad things.
4)sports can help teens through at times hormonal changes and tough social relationships.

    tried and true

http://writingprompts.tumblr.com/post/13101004357/331If I had 10 copies of myself that i could download memories from I would have one person go to school to collect information and do work. Then I would have one clone go exploring the world to see sights and bring back fascinating experiences. My next clone would sit home and study and do homework all the time to further learn other information and to get work done. I would have my 4th clone play lacrosse all day and watch lacrosse film to study successful athletes and have better lacrosse IQ. My 5th clone would read every book imaginable so I could gain a massive vocabulary. Another clone of mine would do a lot of community service projects to help those in need. My 7th clone would become a professional snowboarder and i could download that information.  I would also have another clone learn every martial art there is to know and become an extremely skilled fighter. I would then assign a clone to become a handy man so i knew how to fix everything which would be quite useful. My 10th and final clone would be a body builder.

Compose an essay about a memorable meal you have eaten. We are especially interested in the details: the occasion, your company at this meal, its physical setting, the kinds of foods you ate, or their preparation. (University of Chicago)

Today I had a delicious dinner with all my extended family. We went to a small Italian restaurant in downtown Albany called Katrenella's. We went to celebrate my birthday and I was also getting confirmed shortly after our dinner. We ordered very swiftly and my large family squeezed into the little restaurant. I ordered chicken parmigian. The food arrived and I ate quickly because i couldn't wait to down such a delicious meal. The chicken and ziti was smothered in scrumptious spaghetti sauce so that i could hardly find the meal. It was perfectly made and the service was terrific. The room was very dark and had a more romantic/fancy feeling to it which i enjoyed. I opened presents after the dinner then we drove up the road a short ways to the Cathedral.

Do Rock Stars Need Social Media Strategies

I believe there are strategies by music artists on social media websites. They use it as advertisement so you have the latest updates on upcoming albums and things. Also if you follow them on a social media site it could make you feel the illusion of being closer to them.

    http://timesunion.kaango.com/browse/merchandise/717
Gorgeous strapless gown with some detail, and side rouching. Fitted through bodice and slight flare below the hips. Not a mermaid gown. Never worn. Size 4. Asking $500. Relocating and don't want to bring it. Located in Delmar emilybrown723@hotmail.com

Emily Brown was left the day before her wedding because her fiance was afraid of commitment. Her beautiful dress was "never worn". This was years ago. She was "relocating" and didnt "want to bring it". She had no use for the dress and was quite lonely the past few years. Once a size 4 now a little larger due to aging and eating her way out of loneliness.

The dress went to a young woman ready for her big day. She actually married her fiance and celebrated the happiest day of her life in the "gorgeous strapless gown".

What is your mood like when you wake up in the morning? Do you have any special rituals, such as reading the newspaper while enjoying a cup of coffee, that help you get ready for the responsibilities of the day?

    http://cf.ltkcdn.net/freelance-writing/images/slide/33545-600x399-iStock_000008985267Small.jpg

My usual morning ritual is to wake up, rest for about 6 minutes then get up. I then stumble slowly into the bathroom where I turn on the water and wait for it to warm up. I shower, dry off, comb my hair  then get dressed. I pack my bags then go down stairs to eat breakfast. I eat breakfast till 7 then go upstairs brush my teeth and grab a gatorade. I then go to school.

    N=new england clam chowder

1 diced onion. I laugh because it makes me tear up as I slice the onion. My mom makes a little joke mocking my tears.

2 table spoons of butter. I peel off the wrapper from the Land o' Lakes butter it slides into the bowl and i ask what is next to my mother. we let the butter and onion cook for a few minutes in a saucepan.

I next stir in 2 cups of water whisking it all together.

4 potatoes are added each cut into little squares they remind me of Saturday mornings when my mother makes home fries. I always dip them in ketchup.

add some salt and pepper for seasoning. The flying pepper makes me sneeze.

I play with the stove nob and turn it up and down. My mom tells me to stop fooling around with the flame so I leave it on low.

I pour in 2 cups of half-and-half this reminds me of my father drinking his morning coffee. He adds half-and-half and a little sugar.

add 2 cups of minced clams. The clams remind me of summer clam bakes with my family.Turn down heat, dont boil, let it cook through and turn off heat then serve hot and enjoy.

It is so rewarding tasting the clam chowder. My family shares some and I grin as I put another spoonful into my mouth.

    Behind the masterpiece

I created this painting for my Aunt Mona for her birthday. It is a portrait of her standing outside of our family owned lake house. Often times I paint random pieces just for fun but i put my talents to good use. I got my paint from all natural substances. Like the black from a piece of charcoal and the blue from the oil of a burnt blue jay feather. My aunt is truly not as pudgy but the camera adds 10 pounds.

    On a Typical Day I....

    on a typical day I....

wake up and hop in the shower. I stay in there for about 20 minutes or so because i am slow and groggy. I hop out and brush my hair and what not then i go into my room. I get dressed then pack my backpack and grab my phone. I eat breakfast then bush my teeth and go to school. I go to my classes and thats really boring. After school I go to lacrosse and run a lot and ball it up. I then go home shower, eat and then do homework and text my friends. I then go to sleep.

    heightened description

It was my first game on varsity lacrosse and we stood on the sidelines waiting for the game to begin. My hand became sweaty in my gloves. I saw the goalies shake hands and my heart started to race and beat ferociously. It was exhilarating playing under the lights 3000 miles away from home. I shivered and shook due to the cold and my nervousness. My mouth became parched and I let the cool water swish around swiftly. I subbed on to the field and ran and caught the ball from our goalie. The adrenaline then pumped through my body giving me and surge of energy.

    TU Tuesday- presidential speeches

    http://millercenter.org/president/speeches/detail/3787

I chose Woodrow Wilson's Address at Gettysburg. He talks about how much courage the soldiers were that fought in the important battle. He draws upon the fact that the nation has grown since that time and it has bettered our nation. "They have meant peace and union and vigor, and the maturity and might of a great nation". This also is to celebrate how they were not enemies anymore and to remind people so it wont have to happen again. Woodrow uses this as a learning point saying that even after a war you must still have to work harder to improve. "We have harder things to do than were done in the heroic days of war, because harder to see clearly, requiring more vision, more calm balance of judgment, a more candid searching of the very springs of right."

    M-Mcdonalds

Mcdonalds is a well know fast food restaurant. The prices are accurately low. The service isn't always good because they tend to screw up your order decently often. They have inexperienced people prepare their food. The food tastes pretty good and their most well know meal is the "Big Mac".  The atmosphere is very casual even a homeless man is accepted. There is nothing special about the place because its designed really to be a quick meal. They have booths that you can sit at and its nothing to crazy. It often smells like dirty soap water or cleaning products. The pros of eating at Mcdonalds are swiftness of preparation, decent food, low prices. The cons are sometimes bad service, not extraordinary food, extreme unhealthiness.

    Cheryl Charbonneau

Poise: She did seem like she was comfortable talking to us because she made eye contact with us and wasn't uptight. She connected to me personally by suggesting possible topics I could use for my acting skit thing.

Clarity: She pronounced words pretty clearly and I could understand everything she said. She was pretty straight forward and was not confusing at all.

Volume: she was not quiet at all and i could certainly hear her. She talked fairly loud at some point especially during her first monolog.

Information: She did have useful tips on how to present and act. She provided good reasoning to back her information up. She deffinetly had some useless information in there too. For example when she started telling us about her son and that useless story.

Organization:She was pretty collected and knew what she wanted to talk about. For example whenever she talked.

I didn't have much to say. Nikki had a good situational question asking "what if you completely forget your lines" and that contributed to the discussion.

I think that you should not allow her to come back next year because her monologs were hella annoying. I suggest you do away with the whole monolog project to save the children next year.

This was about how Jeremy Lin is becoming a big hit in the NBA. He came off the bench and has helped the Knicks win 6 consecutive games. He hit a buzzer beat to win the game last night agianst Toronto. He is getting a lot of publicity because he is doing so well and because he's asian. The Knicks were struggling in the beggining of the season. "Their season sputtering just two weeks ago, before Lin escaped the bench, the Knicks (14-15)".
Jeremy Lin is also a modest person and "deflects the praise to his teammates"

    valentines day

"when i looked up and saw cupid with his bow, i knew we were in trouble" so i yelled to Drew Carrey to move. I jumped right out of the way just in time to dodge the arrow but Drew wasn't so lucky. He got up and the first person he saw was Roseanne Barr.  I knew after that he would be doomed for all eternity. I had to help him for fear that he would be stuck with such a nagging woman. So i went to the bank and got a few hundred dollars from my savings and set out to find cupid. As the day progressed i got a tip from someone he was at the downtown bar. So i walked up and sat next to him at the bar and slid over the money making an attempt to bribe him. He accepted and gave me a magic potion that reverses the spell he put on Drew. I went over to Drew 's crib and sure enough he was watching a 1994 episode of Roseanne. It was a gruesome sight so I struggled to keep my eyes off the tv screen. I knew he would never take it so i slipped it in his drink. I made sure he drank it all because i gave him Jalapeno potato chips. He downed the glass and soon snapped out of it. Realizing what he was watching he ran out of the room and hid in the closet. I had ended up saving the day and rescuing my dear friend from the enchantment of love.

    my blog idea

Have them pick from lists of Characters, settings and times such as

    Characters
    -jazz flute artist
    -old woman
    -homeless man
    -rich man
    -insomniac
    -organizer of a charity

    Settings
    -a party
    -the woods
    -a shack
    -large mansion
    -New York City

    Times
    -after a party
    -when hunting
    -after a drug bust
    -after winning the lottery
    -before going on a trip

    so an example would be

A young jazz artist trying to make it in the industry travels around to find work. He records in studios in various cities and tries to land gigs at bars. After months of searching he finally finds a few jazz musicians in New York City. They get a few jobs working at restaurants and get a concert in the park. An agent discovers them and signs them. They begin to record and feature on a hit song with Lady Gaga and get a lot of money. As their musical career progresses and their fame increases they hang out with famous people. They went to a party with a lot of big musical names. They get into some trouble and after the party find themselves in jail. This earns them a bad reputation and their new fragile musical careers slowly break apart. They earn a bad reputation and end up getting dropped from their record label. As they don't keep producing popular hits they fade out of the music world.

    scruples

you are drafted in a war that you think is unjust Do you refuse and risk prison?

I would certainly go i'm not Mohammad Ali. I don't feel like going to prison and you could make money in the army. But it would be very dangerous and there are certainly cons to this situation. I don't really know what i would oppose so much and i am not a gypsy like that ill do what i have to do. It is also selfish if you refuse to go. You are not helping your country and using tax money up sitting in prison.

he is a huge sports fan and has been a sports columnist for 4 years. "He came here 21 years ago" meaning Times Union and thought he would only work there a few years but i guess longer. He also "thinks the Capital Region is one of the best places anywhere to live and raise a family". I live in the capital region and i agree.

I learned the way to defeat the Patriots in the Superbowl is to "Exploit their secondary ". The way to to beat the Giants is to "Utilize the tight end(s) and force Eli Manning to throw late and over the middle." I think the giants will win because of the fact like Mark says "Manning has been that outstanding in the fourth quarter". The way to win football games is to finish strong in the 4th quarter and thats what Eli Manning has consistently been doing.

I also learned that Siena is having a bad basketball season they are " 10-11 heading into February". i figure they wont go very far in the post season

    my lifes motto

life-i am motivated to live a happy life

I try to stay drama, stress and worry free as much as i can. I strive to do things that make me happy and avoid others that could damage my swag. I find it sad when people are unhappy with there lives because there is so many great things in the world. The whole goal of life is to be happy and i think people almost forget about this. They are to concerned with everything and don't remember what they are doing it for

I am from the shelf where no one knew, the safe where I was locked, kept secret and not to be found. For if lost, all family tradition is ruined.

    ACROSTIC POEM

Dedication to something bigger than yourself.
Ready to do whatever it takes.
Eager to fight for it no matter how many enemies you make.
Abitions held high and never hampered.
Making what was a dream, a reality.

The creepy crawly caterpillar went from Canada to Mexico

The creepy crawly caterpillar went from canada to mexico
But the caterpilla was really a smuggler of drugs
cause a journey like that cant be handle by a bug
He is a small man and no thug
hes just tryin to make himself a life
With a few kids and wife
hes gotta provide but he has to be a mule
to send over drugs for crackheads fuel
he has to cross the borders with stash
So he hides it in the back with a bag of trash
hes not a bad guy but does what he has to
to get money to at least get some shoes
he tries to get out of the bussiness
But needs to get presents for christmas
he is killed in a robbery months later
when he could have just worked as a waiter

nursery rhymes are relevant to life

Birds of a feather flock together,
    And so will pigs and swine;
Rats and mice will have their choice,
And so will I have mine.
I feel like this connects to my life because it talks about who you associate with in my opinion. People have their own choice of who they want to be with and whether that is a good or a bad thing it is all up to you. For instance some people get mixed in the wrong crowd like the rats and swine and i will choose to be with good people.

    TU tuesday-tanka

I think that this was a very meaningful event in which the poets placed great tribute to those who suffered during the tsunami. Yueko Sawabe wrote a very nice tanka because she "works at a medical facility in northeastern Fukushima prefecture, a region hit hard" by the tsunami. It was so devastating and hard the for the people on Japan because The earthquake and tsunami left nearly 20,000 people dead or missing and set off the world's worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl in 1986".

After everything is said and done

    We must strive to do
    what most people are frightened
    to accomplish and
    stand up for your liberty
because thats all you have left

This connected to me because this winter there has been little Snow I keep hoping to get some so i can play outside and snowboard or have snow ball fights. I am hoping that we get more in the later part of this winter. I have been able to spend some time outside in these past few months due to the high temperature. It has seemed like very early spring.

    TU tuesday-monster

    http://www.timesunion.com/default/article/Stamford-man-charged-with-killing-elderly-mother-2467789.php

a 60 year old man ( Anthony Fiordelisi) killed his 80 year old mother because he didn't want her to see him kill himself. This man is obviously seriously mentally ill."He went to kill him self by taking numerous pills and by slitting his wrists but later called 911 reporting he was injured". This is a sickening event and this man is an idiot. He didn't want his mother to see him kill himself so he kills her but doesn't end up killing himself in the end. What could have been going through his head? What made his decision rational in his own mind? These are questions we ask ourselfs.
"A murder–suicide is an act in which an individual kills one or more other persons immediately before or at the same time as him or herself. The motivation for the murder in murder–suicide can be purely criminal in nature or be perceived by the perpetrator as an act of care for loved ones in the context of severe depression." This is taken from Wikipedia under the search 'suicide'. This is exactly what this man wanted to accomplish.
Also "11 attempted suicides occur per every suicide death". Provided by National Institute of Mental Health.

    pep talk

i chose the pep talk phrase "lets hear your battle cry"

I guess this applies to me because during lacrosse or football games i let out a battle cry. only during times of exceptional baller-ness or an extremely exciting moment to pump up my teammates. It could be motivational but mostly just for fun. Also when i truly don't want to do something that i need to do i will let out a little yell to get going.
